Bulgaria
While World War II led Bulgaria to side with Nazi Germany as a matter of self-preservation, Bulgaria, as soon as it was able, moved to remove Communism from its politics and government. It was only after the fall of the USSR and Soviet communist influence in the late 1980’s that Bulgaria has emerged from that dark influence. If you look at a map of Bulgaria, you will notice that the country is bordered by Romania in the north, Yugoslavia in the northwest, Macedonia in the southwest, Greece and Turkey in the south and the Black Sea in the east. Your Bulgarian maps may also show that the capital of the country is Sofia, Bulgaria. Not only is Sofia the capital, it is also the name of a province within the country as well. If you look at a physical map of Bulgaria, you might see that there are plenty of historical landmarks, tourist attractions and even national parks. These things alone are perfect stops on your itinerary should you want to travel to Bulgaria. You have the beach resorts along the coast of the Black Sea for those hot summer months. Then there are the ski resorts for some winter snow fun. Add the spa resorts which can be enjoyed all year long and you have the makings of some great vacations!
The great thing about traveling to Bulgaria is the price. Bulgarian money is steady in the world marketplace if not spectacular. What attracts people to this country is the affordability. You could rent a Bulgaria country house during ski season or book a vacation for a reasonable amount of money. That is why people all over Europe are flocking every year to this Balkan Peninsula nation.
While the travel is beautiful in Bulgaria, the people and the country itself is rather simple. One of the ways that simplicity shines through is its country flag. The Bulgarian flag has three horizontal stripes; the top color is white; the middle color is green and the bottom is red. There are no coats of arms or emblem on the flag. What is not so simple are the prices for cell phone coverage while in the country. Unless you have an international phone with an unlimited plan or don’t mind paying extra charges, your best bet is to purchase a Bulgaria sim card for your cell phone. That way you will not be heart attack prone once you get your cell phone bill after your trip to Bulgaria! Finally, because of Bulgaria’s growing, attractive tourism rate and economy, there is more interest in Bulgarian property. Either for relocation, a second home or even for business, Bulgarian property investments are becoming a booming industry. In fact, houses for sale in Bulgaria are becoming more popular as are other Bulgarian properties for sale. This healthy growth makes traveling to Bulgaria a lot more attractive, doesn’t it?
