Practically all of Italy is picturesque and fascinating with its varied history throughout the ages. And Brescia, Italy in the Lombardy region is no different. While Brescia is rather landlocked and not close to the sea, tourists can still find plenty to do. There are a number of buildings that date back to the middle ages and are find examples of architecture of its time. How amazing that they have lasted all these years! There are cathedrals to explore and even the Piazza del Foro which is a group of ancient Roman remains. The city also boasts a large industrial area called the Articoli Industriali in Brescia. These are comprised of small and medium sized engineering, industrial and mechanical businesses. The Articoli Tecnici area in Brescia concentrates on technology. Brescia is booming as one of the largest industrial areas in Italy. In addition, the University of Brescia heavily focuses on engineering as well.
If you are planning to make Brescia a stop on your Italian itinerary, you have plenty of Brescia hotels to choose from. The reason for this, besides its presence industry, is the city’s close proximity to several lakes as well as the Alps. In the matter of hotels, Brescia has a wide range to choose from including five star facilities as well as inns and smaller, quainter choices as well. Travel in May and you may catch demonstrations and car parades based on the famous Mille Miglia which was an endurance race on the open roads. At one time, the race both began and ended in Brescia. The actual race itself was banned after a tragedy in the 1950’s. However the race name was revived for special car shows and parades. If you are a soccer fan (football as it is known in Europe), you could even maybe catch a game. Brescia also has a rugby team too. So as you can see, Brescia does not have to be located in the wine country or along one of the beaches in order to have plenty to do and see. There are a plethora of options! From sightseeing and exploring ancient ruins and cathedrals to taking day trips to the nearby lakes or even the Alps, Brescia has a lot to offer in regards to tourism.
