Sports are also a major player in this historical city. Their basketball team the Boston Celtics have won over fifteen NBA titles and spawned Hall of Famers like Larry Bird. In regards to education, Boston has high standards. First of all, there is Boston University. It is a private research university and also one of the city’s largest employers. Then there is nearby Boston College, another private research university. And while the famed MIT is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it was said to have gotten its start in Boston. Indeed, many of the colleges and educational institutions there have ties to one of the most highly regarded museums in the country, the Boston Museum of Science.
