Of course, the city of Indianapolis (IN) isn’t the only famous namesake. There was the USS Indianapolis which was a heavy class Navy cruiser in World War II. It is famous for carrying an atomic bomb to one of the U.S. military bases before being sunk by Japanese submarines. Loss of life was not totally due to the sub but rather attacks from sharks.
